Update 11/28/2022
There are NO immediate openings for police officers. However, we are accepting applications for lateral entry and entry level police officer positions on a continuing basis to establish an eligibility list for potential future positions.
Testing for entry level candidates will be conducted through the National Testing Network (NTN). The register with NTN, visit nationaltestingnetwork.com, select 'Find Jobs,' select Law Enforcement Jobs and sign up for Butler Township. When you visit the NTN website, you may:
- Complete the NTN registration process and schedule your test
- Review all information related to the position, including minimum requirements, salary, and benefits
- Review detailed information about the testing process
- Review the Frequently Asked Questions and take an online practice test, if desired
Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are forwarded to Butler Township PD. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will be placed on Butler Township PD's eligibility list. Butler Township PD will contact eligible candidates on the list and invite them to participate in further stages of the selection process when and if we move forward with another hiring process. In addition to the NTN test, candidates must complete a Butler Township Employment Application and drop it off at the Admin Building (3510 Sudachi Drive, Dayton, OH 45414) or email it to police@butlertownship.com.

Police Officer - Lateral Entry
Lateral entry candidates must have at least two years full-time service as a police officer with another agency and possess a current Peace Officer certification from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. Applications may be downloaded here. Service Department
Service Worker I
Butler Township (Montgomery County, OH) is seeking motivated individuals to perform various types of physical, manual labor associated with public works and roads: operating light to medium types of motor equipment and hand tools, cleaning catch basins and ditch lines, road maintenance, concrete and asphalt repair, building maintenance, mowing grass, cutting/trimming of trees, cemetery maintenance and burials, building and repairing drainage structures, sign fabrication, vehicle maintenance and snow removal.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent or completion of trade or technical school in a related field. Work experience in the construction field and/or public works industry is a plus. Applicants with a CDL may be considered first. The hourly pay range is $17.76 to $19.60, depending on qualifications. Full-time benefits include great insurance, paid vacation time, 11 holidays off, sick time accrual, as well as enrollment in Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
