Opt-out letters for the Township’s updated Electric Aggregation Program are being mailed this week. A new fixed rate of $0.09199 per kWh has been secured through May 2026 to help protect against rising energy costs. Most residents will be automatically enrolled unless they choose to opt out by May 4, 2025. There are no fees to join or leave the aggregation program at any time.

From June 2026 through May 2028, the program will continue with Archer Energy at a rate structure that accounts for prevailing capacity costs, which are currently unknown. Residents will receive notice before the rate structure changes. This agreement allowed the township to lock in competitive long-term pricing to protect against rising market pressures.

Please note: Residents may be temporarily returned to the utility, AES Ohio, for one billing cycle (May 2025) before being enrolled at the new rate. This was necessary to ensure that participants benefit from the most favorable timing and pricing available.
