Township Hires First Community Planner

The township welcomes Nathan Farmer as the township’s first community planner. The new position was established to meet the demands that come with residential and commercial growth and development.

Nathan manages planning, zoning and code enforcement and also serve as an economic development coordinator.

“This important position helps ensure quality development in the township and keeps residents and businesses informed about planning and zoning procedures.” said Township Administrator Erika Vogel.

Nathan most recently served as the athletic director at Northridge Local Schools and also spend four years with Harrison Township working closely with the zoning, fire and police departments. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Urbana University and a master’s degree from Ohio University.

“I’m excited about joining the township team,” Nathan said. “In my short time here, I’ve learned how deeply residents and businesses care about Butler Township. I want to do everything in my power to make it even better.”
